The Global Healthcare Foundation Ltd. awards scholarships and grants for its targeted areas of research, medical knowledge building, implementation and mobilization of health programs. The process begins with a Call for Proposals. Proposals are accepted for a 3 month period after a Call for Proposal is announced. We accept proposals from all sources including individuals, charities, and organizations. Once the submission period has closed, all proposals are evaluated for eligibility by our Board of Directors who determine by the voting process. Global Healthcare Foundation Ltd. decides when to issue a Call for Proposals in consideration of timing, workload, and funds available as well as other factors.

Evaluation Criteria & Process

Evaluation criteria includes selecting scientifically/technically sound programs with the greatest chances of success, serve to mobilize long-term healthcare solutions and improvements in underdeveloped countries and demonstrate fiscal efficiency and accountability. Global Healthcare Foundation Ltd. target areas include Infectious Diseases, HIV/Aids, Global Health Technology/Strategies, Healthcare Policy and Medical Research/Advocacy. We will also identify groups of special interest such as Women's Health and Children.

Proposals are first screened for eligibility by the Grant Subcommittee and are then forwarded to the Board of Directors who may consult experts, in the field of development who are able to assess the impact of the proposed programs. The Board of Directors, in their sole discretion, will assess the proposals for technical merit and resulting impact. The proposals are assigned to one of the following categories:

(A) Appropriate for funding
(B) Appropriate for funding with minor revision/clarification
(C) Not appropriate for funding but recommended future resubmission
(D) Not appropriate for funding

All proposals assigned as A or B, are re-reviewed by the Board of Directors and in its sole discretion award grants according to funding availability.
