Global Health Care affects all of us regardless of racial, geographical or political boundaries. At
World Health Canada Foundation our goal is to help equalize the great disparity that exist today between developed and developing nations for those who are deprived of basic medical care. Advances of medical science and access to health care services often not available where they are needed the most. We believe that through the international advancement of health sciences and engaging strategic partnerships within a diverse international community, wide spread illness and disease can be prevented and quality of life improved.
Advocating for developing countries to have increased access to health tools will help cultivate the kind of leadership that will champion and bring global health issues to the forefront. Our challenge is meeting the growing demand for health tools including expanded access to medical expertise, improved data and statistical information for the evidenced based practice of medicine and the improvement of health care delivery systems that are both cost effective and productive. Our long-term commitments are in the form of grant making, contributions of medical supplies, health care and technological expertise.
In the fight for global health care, we must also support community base initiatives at the local level which is often necessary for the implementation of long term success. Diseases and illness particularly affect those that are weakened by poverty and lack of basic human needs such as clean water and adequate nutrition. In poor countries, an estimated half of the deaths amongst young children are related to inadequate nutrition. Therefore, we believe that a holistic approach be taken to provide solutions to accelerate agricultural development capable of sustaining the nutritional needs of its community.
In the area of disaster relief, millions of people die each year as a result of natural disasters, civil conflicts, wars and other emergent conditions, we endeavor to work with qualified organizations who bring rapid critical relief to these victims and help these countries recover from disasters.
I am privileged to work with an international team of volunteer physicians, nurses, scientists, educators, leaders, and the supporting public. In donating their time and resources and unfetter dedication, we are making this mission a reality, in bringing global health knowledge and capabilities together, lives can be saved.
